ABOUT US

Our Vision

We envision a Nevada with abundant wildlife freely roaming across a healthy sagebrush-steppe ecosystem, and all Nevadans having equitable access to outdoor opportunities.

OUR VALUES

Collaboration

We listen with respect and communicate with transparency to find common ground and create partnerships built on trust.

Equity

We recognize that people make conservation happen. We seek to create a culture of inclusion, where everyone – especially those who have been historically left out of the conversation – has a voice and influence.

Pragmatic Idealism

We work towards our goals through outcome-oriented strategies that will have tangible on the ground positive impacts for people and wildlife.

Rationality

We rely on critical thinking, facts and data, science, and a breadth of experience to inform our judgement and our search for solutions that benefit Nevada’s wildlife and enhance outdoor opportunities.

Our Commitment to Equity

We envision a Nevada with abundant wildlife freely roaming across a healthy sagebrush-steppe ecosystem, and all Nevadans having equitable access to outdoor opportunities, regardless of any aspect of a person’s background. We recognize that people make conservation happen, and we therefore seek to create a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion, where everyone – especially those who have been historically left out of the conversation – has a voice and influence.

Our History

The Nevada Wildlife Federation (NvWF) is the oldest statewide conservation organization dedicated to sustaining Nevada’s wildlife through conservation and education.

Since 1951, we have defended Nevada’s public lands and the sagebrush steppe ecosystem, ensured responsible management of Nevada’s water, connected kids to nature, supported Nevada’s sporting heritage, and advocated for habitat restoration and collaboratively-developed conservation policy solutions.

The NvWF is an independent nonprofit organization that serves as the state affiliate of the National Wildlife Federation (NWF). Through this partnership, the NvWF takes the lead on state and local conservation efforts, while collaborating with the NWF on a wide variety of national and regional issues.
